The General Body Meeting was held on 21st Jan 2007 at the Grand Maratha Sheraton during the 2nd NCISA, under the chairmanship of Prof. G. Arjundas. The following points were discussed:-

It was noted that according to the world Stroke Association there is no fixed World Stroke Day and each region could plan to have the program as per their convenience. However among the members there was a consensus that Indian Stroke Association should announce 1 day, so that uniformality could be maintained throughout the country.

The 3rd National congress of the Indian Stroke Association will be held in Amritsar with Dr. A. Uppal as the organising Secretary. All members pledged support to Dr. Uppal. It was proposed that regional area coordinator for East, West, North & South be appointed and later given the responsibility for creating stroke awareness.

A Thrombolysis sub group meeting as also an intra cerebral hemorrhage sub group meeting every 6 monthly should be planned. Any ISA member could be a part of this sub group. Dr. S.M. Hastak will look after the thrombolysis subgroup and Dr. JMK Murthy will look after the ICH subgroup. Anyone wishing to join may please contact the above member.

The website of the Indian Stroke Association should allow direct membership of physicians on the Internet. The website should also carry information regarding the international and national stroke congress. The meeting ended with the thanks to the chair (Prof. G. Arjundas) and to the organisers of the 2nd NCISA (Dr. S.M. Hastak & Dr. Fali Poncha)
